What sort of provider GigSky is

Founded in California in 2010, GigSky began with Apple SIM cards for iPads and moved to eSIMs when iPhones gained them in 2018. It sells prepaid, data-only plans for travellers, managed through a mobile app, and has a separate range of cruise-ship plans alongside the usual country, regional and worldwide options.

Regional and global plans give GigSky a clear use for trips crossing borders: one profile can cover several stops, rather than requiring a separate country plan at each border. Reach matters less as a distinction, since many rivals also sell across most of the world. Bundles usually cost more per gigabyte than a single-country plan, so they make most sense on multi-stop itineraries, not a week in one place. GigSky does not say whether plans can be topped up; check its terms if extending a plan matters.
