What LightSIM charges

The cheaper end of LightSIM's catalogue works out at $2.30 a gigabyte. That is well above the $1.34 a gigabyte works out at for the median provider we track. LightSIM is one of the pricier catalogues we cover, 49 of 52 counting from the cheapest, though a headline rate is not the whole story on a plan you will actually use.

We first recorded their catalogue in September 2026, so there is no month-by-month line to draw yet — it starts once we hold 4 monthly snapshots.

Each figure is the lower quartile of every plan the provider lists — the cheaper end of their range, not an average — against the same figure for the median provider we track.

Where LightSIM puts you on the internet

LightSIM does not publish where its traffic reaches the internet, so we cannot tell you. That is a gap in what the provider states rather than a finding about how it routes — a provider that publishes nothing may well come out locally everywhere. We only report exits a provider declares, plan by plan, and we do not infer the rest.

What sort of provider LightSIM is

LightSIM sells four kinds of plan: fixed-volume local and regional bundles, unlimited plans for chosen destinations, pay-as-you-go data, and a worldwide eSIM installed once and reused on later trips. Validity begins on arrival rather than at purchase, and current plans can be refreshed in the app without reinstalling. Unlimited hotspot use is advertised, and the service is built by the telecom provider Telexchange.

With country, regional and global plans, LightSIM is worth considering for trips across borders: a regional or global profile can cover several stops without separate country purchases. Bundles usually cost more per gigabyte than single-country plans, so they make more sense for a multi-stop itinerary than a week in one place. LightSIM sells plans across most of the world, although broad reach is not unusual among rivals; its catalogue is deepest in China, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and Australia. It does not say whether plans can be topped up, so check its terms if you may need to extend one.

Each of these sells into much the same markets as LightSIM. The figures are this month's and state a difference, not a verdict: typical price per gigabyte, and how many countries each reaches.
