NTT docomo and SoftBank are the operators GigSky lists for Japan, giving it more than one named network to fall back on if one is thin outside the cities. 5G is its fastest stated technology, not a promise at every location. Traffic breaks out in the United States of America, so the round trip to Japanese services is longer; video calls and gaming may feel that, while maps, messaging and browsing largely will not, and websites see a US IP. Its large range makes data sizing the main choice, but GigSky does not say whether tethering is available, so check before buying.
