How eSIM Guide makes money, in plain English.
The short version: eSIM Guide earns a commission when you buy an eSIM through a link on this site. You pay exactly the same price as you would going direct. Commission plays no part in how plans are ranked, sorted, scored or recommended.
What an affiliate link is
eSIM Guide is free to use and carries no advertising. It is funded by affiliate commission.
When you press "Buy Now" on a plan, you leave this site and land on the provider's own website, where you complete the purchase with them. Many of those outbound links carry a tracking reference — either the provider's own referral parameter, or a link routed through an affiliate network such as Impact. If you then buy something, the provider pays us a percentage of the sale, or a fixed fee, as a referral commission.
It costs you nothing extra
The commission is paid by the provider out of their own margin. The price you pay at their checkout is the provider's standard price, identical to the price you would pay if you typed their address into your browser and ignored us entirely. Where we list a discount code, you pay less than the standard price, not more.
Commission does not affect our rankings
This is the part that matters, so we will be specific about it.
- Commission rates are not stored against plans or providers in the system that builds our comparison tables, and no ranking, sorting or scoring calculation on this site can read them.
- Plan tables are ordered by the sort you choose — price, data, validity or price per GB — computed from the plan's own attributes.
- Our provider scores are built from coverage, average price per day, Trustpilot rating and our own assessment of credibility. Commission is not one of the inputs.
- Our suggested "top picks" are chosen by an automated score based on value for money, data allowance, provider features and review rating. A provider cannot buy its way into them.
- No provider has ever paid us for placement, for a better score, or for a favourable description, and we do not offer that arrangement.

We list providers we earn nothing from
We sync plan data from every provider we can get a reliable feed from, whether or not there is an affiliate programme attached. If a provider is genuinely the cheapest option for your destination, it appears at the top of a price sort regardless of what it pays us — including when that is nothing at all. A comparison site that only showed you the plans it earns from would not be worth reading.
What we track when you click
When you press a buy or view button we record the event — which plan, which provider, which destination — for our own analytics, and the affiliate network records the referral so the sale can be attributed to us. We do not receive your name, your payment details or your account details from the provider. Our privacy policy covers this in more detail.
Buy direct if you prefer
If you would rather not use an affiliate link, that is entirely reasonable. Every provider we list is named, and you are free to go to their website directly and buy the same plan at the same price. The comparison remains free either way.

If you think something on this site has been influenced by commercial interest, or you spot a price or claim that does not hold up, please tell us through our contact page. We would rather correct it than defend it.
