au, NTT docomo and SoftBank are the operators RedteaGo lists for Japan, giving the service several named networks to fall back on when one is thin outside the cities. Its Japanese catalogue spans a large range, so choosing the right allowance is the main decision; the risk is buying more data than a fortnight needs. RedteaGo lists technology up to 5G, but does not say where traffic breaks out, so local delay and apparent IP location are unknown. Top-up is available, allowing an exhausted plan to be extended rather than rebought.
